Family DJ LLC ("Family DJ," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at
familydj.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we
collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are a single-operator
mobile-DJ business; our data practices are intentionally simple.

Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Booking-request form — your name, email, phone number, event date and start time, approximate event duration, event type, event location, how you heard about us (and who referred you, if applicable), and any message you include.
- Contact form — your name, email, and message for non-booking inquiries.
- Service contracts — if you book, the signed service contract includes your name, email, phone, mailing address, and event details.
- Electronic-signature record (planned feature; not yet live) — when you sign a contract online, we will record your typed name plus a signing audit trail: your IP address, browser/device user-agent, a timestamp, and a cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of the signed document. This exists to make the signature legally verifiable.
- Payment information — online card payments are handled by our third-party payment processors: PayPal (secure payment links) today, with Stripe-hosted checkout (planned; not yet live) to be added. With either, we do not receive or store your full card number. We retain limited transaction details (amount, date, status). Check and cash payments are recorded manually (amount and date received).
Information collected automatically:
- Analytics — we use a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics tool to collect aggregate usage data (such as pages viewed). It sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personal information. See our Cookie Policy.
- Security & server logs — our host processes basic request data (IP address, user-agent) to deliver the Site, and Cloudflare Turnstile processes form interactions to tell humans from bots on our forms.
How we use information
- Respond to booking and contact inquiries.
- Prepare, deliver, and store service contracts, and collect electronic signatures (planned; not yet live).
- Schedule and perform booked events.
- Process payments and send invoices, reminders, and confirmations.
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site (including spam/bot prevention).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising. We share data only with the service providers we use to run the business, and only as needed:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Cookies and analytics
The Site uses only strictly necessary cookies; our analytics is cookieless and sets none. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
How long we keep information
- Booking requests: retained indefinitely as a record of business inquiries.
- Service contracts: retained indefinitely as a business record (and for at least 7 years, covering the contract-dispute limitations period).
- Electronic-signature records: (planned; not yet live) retained for the life of the related contract.
- Analytics data: aggregate and non-personal; retained per our analytics provider's configuration.
Your choices
- Access, correction, or deletion — email contact@familydj.com and we will honor reasonable requests. Although laws like CCPA/GDPR may not apply to a business our size, we accommodate these requests as a courtesy. Note we may need to retain certain records (e.g., signed contracts) to meet legal or tax obligations.
- Analytics — our analytics is cookieless and collects no personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of; you can still use browser do-not-track or content blockers if you prefer.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults arranging entertainment services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, rely on our payment processors (PayPal, and Stripe once live) for card data, and limit access to the systems that hold personal data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Links to other sites
The Site links to and embeds content from third-party platforms (e.g., review sites, maps). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; review their policies separately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be noted on the Site.
