Family DJ LLC is committed to making familydj.com (the "Site") accessible to
as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This is our baseline target, built in from the first version of the Site rather than added afterward.
What we do
- Semantic, structured HTML and clear headings.
- Full keyboard navigation for interactive elements (menus, forms, the photo gallery/lightbox).
- Color is never the only way information is conveyed — color is paired with text or icons; text contrast meets AA.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images.
- Automated accessibility checks (axe-core) run in our continuous-integration pipeline, and the build fails on violations.
- Manual checks on real mobile and desktop browsers.
Known limitations
Some third-party content embedded on the Site — such as review widgets from external platforms — is provided by other companies and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Where that happens, we aim to provide an accessible text alternative or a direct link to the same information. An interactive venues map (planned; not yet live) will be held to the same standard when it is added.
